This psychology course is the first of its discipline offered by the Department of social sciences in the social sciences program, and is mandatory for all its students.
This course aims to provide students with a general perspective of the various psychological sciences; this course’s objective is therefore to introduce students to psychology and its scientific research methodology, perspectives and fields of research, including the neurophysiological basis of human behaviour, learning, cognition, development, personality, motivation, emotion, mental health, etc., and to further develop academic research methods, specifically in psychological sciences.Ultimately, this course offers an overview of the scientific approach in psychology, through the analysis scientific studies on human behaviour and thinking patterns, not only to help students better understand themselves and others, but also to prepare them for further university undergraduate studies and research in psychology.
