The purpose of this course is to help students build their critical sense and understanding of the economy and its role in society and politics. Throughout the course, students will learn the tools required to critically appraise various economic issues, and explain how economic policies can help solve economic and social problems.  The course introduces students to economic systems, the great economic thinkers, the different schools of thought, and the basic concepts and theories of economics, as well as the major societal and international issues, such as globalization and technological development that affect economic policies and decisions. Students will become familiar with introductory concepts, methods, and models of economic analysis, political and other decision making considerations and their limitations
